Mother's Day has a whole new meaning to me this year. Although I am not officially a mother on paper in my heart I am a Mom...I just don't have my son with me yet. I was so excited thinking that next year I will be celebrating Mother's Day with Wyatt home. That is right- home in Parksville!! What a blessing that will be. I know he won't understand the significance but I do.
We celebrated Mother's Day on Thursday with my Mom along with Braelyn's first birthday. My family blessed me with a beautiful locket. It has Wyatt's picture in it which will be a great reminder of what is to come in this next year.
Yesterday, Isaiah wanted to look inside of it and he knew who the picture was of and assured me that Wyatt will come soon.
I have started gathering the supplies I will be packing for trip #1. My list has been made and the suitcases are in my room. I know it could be up to 4 months until I get to travel but I want to be prepared when the day comes. And let's be realistic it will take me a month to get everything together and bought.
I have bought thank you gifts for my Bulgarian Agency, translator and driver as well as the staff at Wyatt's home. I went with BC caught and smoked salmon, Purdy's chocolates from their Canadian collection and I may get something else that is small but I haven't decided yet. I am hoping to find someone locally who would be willing to write thank you cards for me as I am not sure google translation is trustworthy enough.
For the home where Wyatt lives I will be bringing homemade blankets, some clothing and a cash donation. As well when my parents adopted Aiden they connected with a church in Sofia who do a lot of outreach and so I am also planning on bringing donations for them as well.
I have a wheely little kids suitcase that I will bring for our visits. From the videos I have I think he will enjoy pulling it around the room. He is developmentally very young and so I have mainly baby type toys that I will be bringing and I am also hoping to bring something that plays music as he loves to dance.
Andrea got me a chart so that we can measure his feet and know what size of shoes I need to buy and then I will bring a tape measure so I can figure out what size of clothes he needs. My guess is size 3 or 4 but I am buying size 5 for now until I know as he can always grow into them.
I am hoping that I will have news on my dossier this next week as the Bulgarian Consulate re-opened last week.
